Are you looking after or providing support for a relative friend or neighbour? Are you being helped or supported by a relative friend or neighbour?
Your GP needs to know so you can be offered the right information, support and access to services. GP surgeries have to compile information for the government about the numbers of carers attached to the surgery so your information will help them to do this.
There is more information about help with day-to-day living because of illness or disability on the NHS website.
Free support
If you are a carer over 18, you can access free support from one of our Social Prescribing Link Workers.
Social Prescribing is a non-medical service that aims to improve health and wellbeing by connecting people to the information, services, groups and activities which focus on the things that matter to them. Carers can access help on assessments, benefits advice and respite support, connecting to emotional and peer support, and connecting to vital health screening opportunities and services such as NHS Health Checks, cancer screening, and flu, Covid-19 and pneumococcal vaccinations for those they you look after.
