Unprecedented demand on our services at The Avenue Surgery
Over the last few weeks we have seen a dramatic increase of demand for appointments.
We urge our patients to only call the surgery if absolutely necessary and all other self-help options have been tried. Our telephone lines will advise you once our available appointments have gone for the day.
When you call us, we will triage your request for an appointment and where required will encourage you to use your local chemist, e-consult (that can be found on our website) or access help via NHS 111. There is also the Brighton Station Walk in Centre available where you can turn up and wait to be seen.
The staff and doctors are under immense pressure at the moment with trying to manage an impossible demand.
Please be kind and patient when you call or visit the practice. In line with the NHS Zero Tolerance stance, verbal or physical abuse will not be tolerated at The Avenue, and any such behaviour could result in removal from our patient list.
